Carpet
Choosing that new floor for your home is an exciting
time, with so many styles, colours and textures to choose
from it can be daunting that's why when you visit Harrisons
Carpets our trained team can help you select the right
flooring for your home.
Choosing a Style & Colour
The way a carpet looks is undoubtedly one of the most
important aspects that people consider when selecting
carpets. Carpet can add warmth, luxury and softness
under foot like nothing else you can put on your floor
plus its practical and hardwearing. Its no wonder then
that carpet is the biggest selling floor coverings for
New Zealand homes.
Colour is one of the most important aspects when
selecting your new carpet because the floor acts as
an anchor, bringing the overall colour scheme of a living
space together.
Types of Carpet
Plush Pile: Plush is a cutpile carpet that offers
a plush almost velvety finish. Each tuft is cut at the
same height to create a luxuriously formal look.
Hardtwist: Hardtwist is also a cutpile carpet that
provides a rugged surface texture. Two or more yarns
of fibre are twisted together to add strength to the
finished yarn giving it excellent pile recovery and
wearability.
Textured Loop Pile & Sisals: As the name suggest
these carpets are made up of multiple loops which give
a patterned or textured effect. The depth of the texture
can be varied by changing the height of the loops.
Loop Pile: Loop piles are made up of rows of continuous
loops which provides a comfortable finish that is durable
and hardwearing.
